The mission of the Community Foundation of the Upper Peninsula is to enhance quality of life in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

The foundation will promote its own U.P-wide philanthropy and that of its affiliate members through growth of "permanent endowment funds" from a wide range of donors, grants, and leadership activities as well as promoting collaborative efforts of community foundations throughout the U.P. The Community Foundation of the Upper Peninsula also provides financial, administrative, communication and other support services to its affiliate members and to other community foundations.
